This scheme offers UKRI-funded doctoral students the opportunity to undertake a three-month internship in a leading policy organisation, including government departments, parliaments, and public agencies. The placements immerse students in real-world policy environments, allowing them to develop skills that bridge academic research and policymaking. Interns are expected to contribute to policy briefings, inquiries, and events, gaining hands-on experience in how research informs public policy. Flexible, remote, and hybrid arrangements are available, and a wide range of host organisations participate across the UK.
