Description
UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) runs this harmonised Impact Acceleration Account programme through AHRC, EPSRC, MRC and STFC. The awards give research organisations flexibility to invest in impact activities that fit their strengths and strategies, add value to existing research funding, and respond to emerging opportunities.
Activities can include proof of concept, commercialisation and market validation; work with policymakers, businesses and the third sector; knowledge exchange; and partnerships with non-academic users. The programme also supports training and institutional culture change. UKRI aims to move research outputs along the impact pipeline while building organisations’ capacity to create impact and learn from activities that do not progress as expected.
