UK-Netherlands co-innovation for quantum technology 2026 supports UK and Netherlands businesses in collaborative feasibility studies and industrial research to commercialise quantum technologies.
Funder: UK Research and Innovation
Due Dates: February 9, 2027, 11:00am UK time (Application deadline) | November 11, 2026 (Briefing) | March 29, 2027 (Notification)
Funding Amounts: £250,000–£400,000 per project for UK partners, over 18–24 months; up to £1.5 million total
Summary: Supports UK–Netherlands collaborative research and development to commercialise quantum technologies.
Key Information: Requires a separate, non-linked Netherlands business applying to RVO, with independent selection by both national funders.
Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation, runs this bilateral competition with the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO). It supports feasibility studies and industrial research that strengthen collaborative development towards commercialising quantum technologies. Proposals must demonstrate co-innovation, commercial potential, a technological challenge and a global market exploitation plan.
Projects must develop, prototype or test commercial technologies within four themes: entanglement-based quantum networking hardware or software; quantum computing algorithms, applications and hybrid workflows; commercial quantum sensing and imaging, including healthcare, life sciences and public infrastructure; or commercially viable manufacturing and assembly of enabling quantum hardware. Projects must advance second-generation quantum technologies exploiting superposition and entanglement. Testbed providers and pilot production lines in either country are encouraged.
