Summary: Supports youth-led feminist advocacy that counters misogyny and harmful gender norms to improve women’s and girls’ safety online and offline in West Africa.
Key Information: Applicants must operate in West Africa, demonstrate comparative advantage in Senegal, Nigeria and Ghana, and have English and French working capacity.
UN Women’s West and Central Africa Regional Office is seeking Responsible Parties to implement selected activities under the SAFE project, supported by the Ford Foundation. The call focuses on youth-led and feminist narrative change: creating, testing and disseminating content that challenges online misogyny, harmful masculinities, discriminatory gender norms and tolerance of violence against women and girls.
Implementation concentrates on Senegal, Nigeria and Ghana, with regional learning and advocacy across West Africa. Supported work connects social media campaigns, creative content and peer influence with offline advocacy and community engagement. Partners will engage young feminists, content creators, influencers, digital artists and youth communities to promote consent, respect, empathy and accountability. Interventions must align with SAFE Outcome 1 and Output 1.1, while connecting where relevant to community protection pathways and evidence-informed advocacy on technology-facilitated gender-based violence.
