The Society of Antiquaries of Scotland offers this grant stream specifically for its Under 26 and Student Fellows. It supports archaeological and historical research into Scotland’s past, presentation of research on Scottish themes at conferences in Britain or abroad, and visits to museums, collections, or materials of archaeological science at home or overseas. Funding can also help prepare additional data and material for publication by the Society.
The Society seeks high-quality, impactful research and publication relating to Scotland’s past. Historical projects incorporating material culture may receive preference. Applications should explain the research’s importance, its relationship to relevant research frameworks, and its intended impact. The Society also considers climate and environmental impacts and applicants’ commitments to equality and opportunity.
