The Undergraduate Fellowship in Karst Studies is part of the Cave Conservancy Foundation’s Charles W. Maus Fellowship program. It supports student research concerned with caves and karst, with eligible fields including archeology, biology, engineering, environmental science, geography, geology, hydrology, and social science. Research may focus on caves and karst areas anywhere in the world, although applicants must study full-time at a U.S. college or university.
The fellowship is part of the Foundation’s commitment to promoting the conservation, management, and knowledge of cave and karst resources. Its academic fellowship program has supported student research since 1997, offering more than 50 fellowships totaling close to $500,000 across undergraduate and graduate levels.
