The Undergraduate Research and Creative Scholarship Excellence Award at Western Michigan University (WMU) is designed to recognize and promote hands-on research and creative scholarship among undergraduate students. Through this competitive program, WMU undergraduates can undertake original research or creative projects under the mentorship of a tenured/tenure-track faculty or staff member who is actively engaged in or seeking external research funding. The award aims to foster professional development, academic achievement, and a culture of mentorship, benefiting both students and mentors while advancing the university’s research mission.
