Summary: Funds research to analyze and innovate capital market mechanisms for boosting investment in New European Bauhaus neighbourhood projects.

    Description

This grant supports research focused on understanding and innovating capital market dynamics to increase investment in neighbourhood transformation projects aligned with the New European Bauhaus (NEB) initiative. The aim is to bridge the gap between the demand and supply of capital for NEB-aligned projects, which are often small-scale, community-oriented, and face challenges in attracting large, risk-averse investors. Funded projects should analyze market barriers and drivers, develop innovative investment solutions (e.g., place-based impact investing, digital financial instruments, community co-investment platforms), and validate these solutions in at least three different EU Member States or Associated Countries. The research should provide actionable recommendations for mobilizing diverse types of capital and support future funding strategies, following a participatory and transdisciplinary approach and building on the NEB Investment Guidelines.
