The United States Timor-Leste Scholarship Program (USTL) is designed to support talented students from Timor-Leste in pursuing undergraduate study—either associate or bachelor’s degrees—at accredited colleges and universities in the United States. The scholarship covers all major costs, including tuition, travel, living stipends, medical insurance, and visa fees. Selected applicants may receive up to one year of intensive English-language training in the U.S. prior to starting their degree program. In addition to academic coursework, the program encourages engagement in community service and professional internships. USTL supports a broad range of academic disciplines, such as agricultural science, business communication, economics, education, environmental science, international relations, political science, psychology, and sociology.
