Description
The Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (IMA) offers University Liaison Grants to help university student mathematical societies enhance their programmes for members and promote mathematics. Undergraduate, postgraduate and mixed student societies can apply. The scheme also aims to strengthen students’ engagement with the IMA and introduce the benefits of membership.
Supported activities include mathematical talks, printing mathematical newsletters, group travel to IMA Early Career Mathematicians’ conferences or places of mathematical interest, and student participation in the Tomorrow’s Mathematicians Today Conference. Societies can also seek support for careers events, promotional materials featuring the IMA logo, networking activities and quizzes. Speaker travel, modest food costs encouraging attendance, and venue costs are eligible expenses.
