Description
The University of Akron Scholarship provides educational funding through the Association for Iron and Steel Technology (AIST) Northeastern Ohio Member Chapter scholarship program. Funded by the AIST Foundation, it supports an engineering or metallurgy student at the University of Akron rather than a specified research study or project.
The award is part of AIST’s local chapter scholarship network, whose 22 chapters collectively issue more than 43 scholarships annually for qualified individuals within their regions. The Northeastern Ohio program considers academic achievement, extracurricular activities, planned major, and an applicant essay when selecting recipients. Engineering applicants are preferred, and awards are made without regard to financial need.
