Description
The URA Visiting Scholars Program supports scholarly work at Fermilab by faculty, research scientists, postdoctoral researchers, and graduate students from URA-member universities. Established in 2007 and administered by Universities Research Association, Inc., it is funded solely through contributions from member universities in the United States, Italy, and the United Kingdom. Visits range from conferences and summer schools to extended stays of up to one year.
Supported fields include high-energy physics experiments, astrophysics, theory, accelerator physics, materials science, computer science, engineering, quantum science and technology, and accelerator research and development related to Fermilab’s mission. The program also supports laboratory-sponsored conferences, workshops, and summer schools. Scientific and educational merit, along with cost-effectiveness, guide selection. Funding is intended for scholarship, not visits solely to operate Fermilab facilities.
