Description
The Urban Agriculture Grant Program, administered by the California Department of Food and Agriculture’s Office of Farm to Fork, funds projects that enhance the viability and impact of urban agriculture across California. Supported by Proposition 4 (2024), the program aims to create or expand urban and suburban community farms and gardens, using a wide range of cultivation methods including in-ground plots, raised beds, rooftop farms, hydroponics, and more. The program emphasizes equitable access to nutritious foods, community engagement, workforce development, urban greening, and education about food systems. Priority is given to projects led by or serving populations identified as priority by the California Air Resources Board, with a focus on geographic diversity across California's urban regions.
