Description
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) offers these grants to help urban communities develop wildlife plans and address damage or nuisance problems involving white-tailed deer and Canada geese. Projects may establish population estimates, implement managed hunts or trapping, use DNR-approved removal methods, modify habitat, or carry out other approved control measures.
The program prioritizes prevention and reduction of threats to human safety, health, and property. Applications are ranked on the severity of the problem, the likelihood of preventing it, cost-effectiveness, and whether the approach offers a long-term solution.
