Description
The National Urea Cycle Disorders Foundation (NUCDF) supports research that advances scientific understanding and therapeutic development for urea cycle disorders (UCD). Through collaboration with the Urea Cycle Disorders Consortium and global research centers, NUCDF funds innovative basic, translational, and clinical research projects. The Foundation's flagship funding program is the NUCDF Fellowship Award (now known as the Cynthia Le Mons Fellowship), which supports promising young investigators in the UCD field. Research supported by NUCDF aims to uncover disease mechanisms, improve treatments, and ultimately find a cure for UCDs, with a strong emphasis on patient-centered outcomes and global data sharing.
