Description
The National Urea Cycle Disorders Foundation (NUCDF) funds research to advance the understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of urea cycle disorders (UCDs). Through partnerships with the Urea Cycle Disorders Consortium (UCDC) and a global network of clinical research centers, the foundation supports basic, translational, and clinical research projects. Its efforts include sponsoring the UCD International Patient Registry, facilitating innovative studies on disease mechanisms, therapies, and brain injury prevention, and providing input on research priorities that reflect patient and family needs. The NUCDF Fellowship Award (now the Cynthia Le Mons Fellowship) is a flagship program supporting promising early-career investigators whose work has led to new clinical trials and therapies.
