The Urgent Needs Cycle, offered by the Charlevoix County Community Foundation, is designed to support nonprofit organizations, schools, and municipalities serving Charlevoix County residents who are facing immediate and critical needs. The program seeks proposals that help individuals access essentials such as food, shelter, safety, healthcare, mental health services, utility assistance, transportation, and other basic needs. In addition, the cycle funds capacity-building efforts for organizations working in these areas, such as planning activities, executive coaching, DEI training, equipment, staffing, and strategies to improve service delivery or outreach.
Proposals are evaluated based on the organization’s community impact, capacity, the strength and planning of proposed activities, and the directness and duration of impact. The program encourages innovative, collaborative approaches that address new or existing needs, with a focus on prevention and self-sufficiency.
