This program seeks to strengthen the environment for foreign investment and sustainable economic growth in sub-Saharan Africa by supporting market-based, private sector-led projects in two strategic areas: Critical Minerals Investment and Commercial Diplomacy Acceleration. Projects must demonstrate measurable benefits to one or more sub-Saharan African countries, such as increased investment from high-quality U.S. and U.S.-aligned companies, and should create conditions that enable U.S. commercial participation. The program is designed to de-risk and catalyze investment, promote transparent and competitive markets, and advance U.S. national interests.
