Description
J-PAL North America’s US Health Care Delivery Initiative (HCDI) supports randomized evaluations of strategies to improve health care delivery in the United States. Funding covers exploratory travel and project development, pilot studies, full evaluations, and additional work on previously funded evaluations. Proposals incorporating research questions about racial equity are particularly welcome.
The initiative aims to generate rigorous evidence for health care policy while addressing disparities in access and outcomes associated with income and race. It also helps overcome barriers to partnerships between academics and health care leaders, including identifying evaluation partners and securing resources to develop studies. Research should demonstrate relevance to public policy and economically marginalized populations, with lessons that can inform decisions beyond the immediate study.
