This initiative provides grants to freelance and staff journalists working with local U.S. news outlets to support in-depth enterprise and investigative reporting projects on underreported stories. Projects that focus on data, investigative, and accountability journalism—particularly those tackling systemic issues and holding local power structures accountable—are especially valued.
