Description
The U.S. National Science Foundation, in coordination with UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), supports new or expanded partnerships between U.S. research centers and UK centers or institutes in artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum information science and technology (QIST). Supplemental requests must advance the goals of an existing NSF award and demonstrate mutually beneficial intellectual collaboration that combines complementary expertise.
AI priorities include use-inspired research, precision biotechnology, AI-ready biotechnology datasets, and an AI-literate scientific workforce. Quantum priorities include sensors with real-world applications, fundamental quantum science and engineering, translation into devices and systems, and workforce development. Supported collaboration can include research visits, meetings and workshops, facility and equipment use, datasets and data standards, and joint training.
