This opportunity provides supplemental funding for existing U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) center-scale or institute-scale awardees in artificial intelligence (AI) or quantum information science and technology (QIST) to establish or deepen collaborative research activities with UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) AI Hubs or Quantum Technology Research Hubs. The initiative aims to leverage complementary strengths in both countries to accelerate scientific progress, promote technological innovation, and foster workforce development in critical areas such as AI-driven biotechnology, quantum sensors, and data standardization. Activities may include joint research, workforce training, infrastructure development, and translation of foundational research into practical applications.
