Description
The Utah Office of Energy Development (OED) administers this grant under HB 426 to support original energy and energy-related research within Utah. Projects must advance the state’s energy goals and align with Utah’s state energy policy and State Strategic Energy Plan. Research findings may inform further work, including technology development.
OED evaluates proposals for alignment with its objectives, the strength of their approach, organizational capacity, community impact and engagement, and plans for sustainability and evaluation. Funded researchers document their progress and findings during the project and summarize their results and possible directions for further research or technology development at its conclusion.
