Description
The Utah Food Security Grant is administered by the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food (UDAF) to strengthen Utah’s food supply chain from farm to consumer. It supports investments in agricultural production, processing, storage, distribution, market access, and local food promotion. The program aims to expand opportunities for Utah producers, strengthen rural communities, and increase the availability of Utah-grown and Utah-raised food.
Competitive funding is offered through three tracks: Equipment and Infrastructure, Market Development and Food Access, and Education and Technical Assistance. Together, these tracks support physical food-system capacity, connections between producers and buyers, rural consumer access, and technical skills for producers, food businesses, and organizations. Funding comes through the Rural Health Transformation Program in partnership with the Utah Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
