Description
The Economic Assistance Grant is administered by the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity with funding allocated by the Utah Legislature. It provides competitive, one-time, project-based awards to Utah businesses providing services related to industry, education, community development, or infrastructure. Projects are temporary efforts with defined goals, start and end dates, and unique outcomes, rather than repeatable ongoing operations.
The program prioritizes projects that develop Utah’s targeted industries, demonstrate comprehensive planning, and use clear metrics to measure success. Sound organizational and project budgets, other funding sources, and proposed matching funds are also priorities. Awards may support rural industries such as agriculture and other key sectors outside the five targeted industries.
