Description
The Economic Assistance Grant is a competitive, project-based program administered by the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity. It supports for-profit and nonprofit businesses providing services related to industry, education, community development, or infrastructure that foster economic opportunity in Utah. A project is a temporary effort with a defined start and end date and a specific, new outcome—not an ongoing operation.
The program prioritizes projects that develop Utah’s five targeted industries, while allowing awards for projects supporting rural industries such as agriculture or other key industries outside those sectors. It also favors clear measures of success, comprehensive planning, sound budgets, and projects that leverage other funding or propose matching funds.
