Description
The Utah Department of Agriculture and Food’s Grazing Improvement Program provides cost-share grants for practical improvements to rangeland management and sustainability. Projects may include water developments, fencing, and vegetation treatments on land used to graze cattle, sheep, goats, or horses.
Established through the 2006 Rangeland Improvement Act, the program is part of a broader effort to sustain Utah’s grazing lands. The act also guided the creation of State and Regional Grazing Advisory Boards to strengthen producers’ voices in rangeland decisions. The program monitors some projects to document changes in vegetation and assess whether grazing-management goals are being met.
