Description
Utah Humanities awards two research fellowships annually through endowments honoring former board member Albert J. Colton and founding director Delmont R. Oswald. The Colton Fellowship supports humanities projects of national or international scope; the Oswald Fellowship supports Utah studies. Both are intended to advance humanities research and bring it into communities through public programming.
Projects may contribute to fields such as history, literature, anthropology, folklore studies, philosophy, or religious studies. Interdisciplinary projects applying humanities methods and perspectives in the sciences are also welcome. Fellows turn their research into at least one free, accessible public event that invites audiences to participate and critically examine perspectives and experiences.
