Description
The Utah Outdoor Recreation Grant (UORG), administered by the Utah Division of Outdoor Recreation, helps communities build permanent, public outdoor recreation infrastructure across Utah. The program connects recreation development with economic growth, tourism, and improved quality of life for residents. Its priorities include expanding recreational access, supporting healthy and active lifestyles, and promoting stewardship and sustainable visitation.
Five funding options cover smaller infrastructure projects, community-level investments, regionally significant assets, restoration of existing infrastructure, and traditional community parks. Supported recreation includes trails, camping, fishing, climbing, adaptive recreation, snow and water activities, wheel sports, outdoor adventure courses, and recreational shooting. The restoration option addresses aging or degraded infrastructure on public lands, while Community Parks and Recreation supports outdoor parks, fields, pools, playgrounds, and sport courts.
