Established in 2013, the Vallee Scholar Award program provides flexible research support to exceptional early-career investigators in basic biomedical research. The Vallee Foundation supports bold and innovative scientists whose work represents the future of biomedical discovery, with awards intended to have a meaningful impact during the formative years of an independent research career.
Unlike a traditional project grant, the program places as much emphasis on a candidate’s potential as on the proposed research. Its career-development focus connects support for scientific ideas with investment in the people advancing biomedical discovery. The Foundation welcomes outstanding scientists from diverse backgrounds and experiences and has invested more than $23 million in scholars since the program began.
