Description
The Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation’s Venetian Research Program supports individual scholars conducting historical research on Venice and the former Venetian empire, as well as studies of contemporary Venetian society and culture. It funds travel, residence, transportation within the Veneto, and specific research expenses that enable scholars to consult materials in the region.
The program welcomes research across the humanities and social sciences, including archaeology, architecture, art, bibliography, economics, history, history of science, law, literature, music, political science, religion, and theater. Other relevant research interests are also considered. A complementary, one-time award allows previous Delmas grantees to pursue related research exclusively on Venetian materials in libraries or museums outside the Veneto.
