Description
The Brownfields Revitalization Fund supports remediation that helps return contaminated properties in Vermont to use. It is administered by the Vermont Agency of Commerce and Community Development (ACCD) in consultation with the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation (VT DEC). The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has awarded funds to the program to support Brownfield Initiative projects.
The fund offers federal cleanup grants to eligible municipalities and nonprofit organizations, and cleanup loans to those applicants and private developers. A separate state-funded Brownfields Revitalization Fund program also supports implementation of approved Corrective Action Plans; unlike the federal program, it can provide grants to private developers.
