Registered Apprenticeship Program Development Grant supports Vermont employers and sponsoring organizations in creating apprenticeship programs or new occupations to build a skilled workforce.

Funding Amounts: Up to $25,000 per award; up to eight awards anticipated
Summary: Supports the development and registration of new Vermont Registered Apprenticeship Programs or new occupations in existing programs.
Key Information: Reimbursement begins only after registration of the program or occupation and its first apprentice.
Description
The Vermont Department of Labor offers this grant to reduce the financial barriers to designing, building, launching, or expanding a Registered Apprenticeship Program. It funds the foundational work needed to register a new program or add and launch an apprenticeable occupation in an existing program. Registered Apprenticeship combines on-the-job learning with related technical instruction to build a skilled workforce and provide workers with industry-recognized credentials.
Priority consideration goes to manufacturing, health care and human services, information technology, hospitality and tourism, and construction. Occupations outside those sectors are considered case by case.
