Description
The Vermont Housing and Conservation Board (VHCB) funds conservation projects of statewide significance that provide lasting benefits to Vermonters. Eligible work includes protecting natural areas that provide habitat for rare or endangered species, acquiring land for public access to trails or water, conserving greenways, and acquiring important historic properties for public use.
The program brings together natural, recreational, and historic conservation. VHCB conservation staff review applications and visit proposed properties before presenting projects to the Board, which makes final funding decisions at regular meetings.
