Description
The Vermont Regional Assessment Program helps move brownfield reuse projects forward by identifying environmental conditions and planning cleanup. Vermont’s Regional Planning Commissions (RPCs) provide technical and financial assistance to eligible projects within their regions. The work is paid for by the RPC, performed by pre-qualified environmental professionals, and overseen by the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation (VT DEC).
Supported work can include Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, evaluation of cleanup alternatives, and development of Corrective Action Plans. The program addresses the assessment and planning needed before reuse can proceed; it does not pay to implement site cleanup.
