Vertex Pharmaceuticals’ IgAN Research Innovation Awards are competitive grants supporting the next generation of M.D.s and Ph.D.s advancing understanding of IgA nephropathy. The program combines funding for scientific investigation with support for researchers establishing careers in IgAN. It forms part of Vertex’s broader support for independent research, scientific innovation, and initiatives advancing knowledge and care for people living with serious diseases in its research focus areas.
The program offers two complementary routes: Independent Research Innovation Awards help newly independent faculty establish their own research programs with outstanding promise in IgAN, while Mentored Research Innovation Awards support projects carried out with established IgAN researchers. An independent steering committee reviews applications and selects award recipients.
