Pennsylvania’s Department of Labor & Industry (L&I) runs the Veteran Employment Program to increase employment and strengthen economic stability for veterans and their families. The program supports outreach to veterans, including veterans with disabilities, and eligible spouses; customized career-readiness and skills development; access to clinical and supportive services; and collaboration with local employers to promote retention and career advancement.
Supported activities include individualized job search assistance, resume and interview preparation, workplace skills, digital literacy, career exploration, occupational training, apprenticeship readiness, and industry-recognized credentials. Employment-related education and practical assistance—such as transportation, childcare, work attire, tools, and required screenings—can help participants access training and jobs. Projects must provide at least one employment-related supportive service, advancing Pennsylvania’s priorities of reducing barriers and supporting stable, family-sustaining civilian careers.
