VIA Art Fund’s Artistic Production Grants support the production and presentation of newly commissioned contemporary visual art outside museum or gallery walls, in the public realm, or in non-traditional exhibition environments. Awarded twice annually, the program supports individual artists and presenting organizations working in the United States and internationally, subject to artist-location requirements. VIA funds singular artistic commissions, including commissions within larger biennials or triennials.
The program centers on three values: Artistic Production, Thought Leadership, and Public Engagement. VIA champions artistic excellence and innovation, supports established and emerging voices that bring new knowledge to contemporary art, and promotes work that crosses social, cultural, geographic, and economic barriers to reach diverse audiences. Where possible, supported works may be gifted to U.S. public collections so they continue to encounter new audiences.
