Description
The Village Safe Water Program, administered by the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), is dedicated to assisting rural Alaskan communities—especially those with predominantly Native populations—in developing and improving sustainable sanitation infrastructure. The program addresses the critical needs of over 280 remote villages, many of which lack safe drinking water or adequate sewage disposal, by providing support for planning, capital improvement, and construction of water and sanitation facilities.
