Description
The South Carolina Attorney General’s Department of Crime Victim Assistance Grants (DCVAG) administers the state’s Services, Training, Officers, and Prosecutors (STOP) Violence Against Women formula grant funds. Through competitive awards, the program supports projects that improve prosecution, law enforcement, court responses, and direct services for victims of domestic and dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
Projects are intended to strengthen community responses through collaboration among victim-service organizations, governments, courts, law enforcement, prosecutors, and other partners. They must use victim-centered, trauma-focused strategies and continue seeking victim-service input during implementation to promote victims’ safety, confidentiality, and economic independence. The program encourages services for similarly situated male victims.
