Description
The Ohio Office of Criminal Justice Services administers this program to help law enforcement agencies work with local communities to prevent and reduce violent crime. It supports the creation, implementation, or expansion of promising or proven strategies, including Place Network Investigations, Focused Deterrence, Hot Spot Policing, and Crime Gun Intelligence Centers. Projects may also use the Comprehensive Gang Model’s core strategies: community mobilization, opportunity provision, social intervention, violent crime suppression, and organizational change and development.
Funding can support technology, equipment, personnel overtime, training, technical assistance, and analytical tools or support tied to an identified violence reduction strategy. The program emphasizes community feedback, collaboration with criminal justice and service partners, and data collection to assess progress.
