    Description

The Mary Louise Olds Andrews Award for Cancer Research supports basic research in any area of cancer. The Virginia Academy of Science administers the program with funds provided by the Mary Louise Andrews Trust. Individuals and teams from eligible institutions of higher education or nonprofit organizations with an active academic association in Virginia may propose work addressing fundamental questions in cancer.

The program connects research funding with dissemination of findings through publications, presentations, posters, and Academy meetings. Proposals must explain the research objectives, relevance to cancer, rationale, planned procedures, anticipated outcomes, and potential caveats. The research plan should be understandable to the VAS Research Committee, whose members represent diverse scientific disciplines.
