Description
The Virginia Department of Energy administers this federally funded program to reduce the frequency and duration of electric-grid outages affecting homes, schools, businesses, and critical infrastructure. It supports grid modeling for transmission and distribution planning; deployment of resilience technologies such as microgrids, battery-storage components, and adaptive protection; modernization and hardening of grid infrastructure; replacement of outdated or failing equipment; and workforce training for grid-resilience projects.
Proposals must address at least one program objective and identify metrics to demonstrate results. The department prioritizes projects that sustain reliable service, address identified disruptive events, and support jobs and economic development in Virginia. All awards require final approval from the U.S. Department of Energy.
