Description
The Virginia Heritage Fund, administered by the Community Foundation of the Rappahannock River Region, supports the collection and preservation of the region’s documentary history and efforts to make that history broadly accessible. It works with museums, libraries, archives, and historical societies to protect important historical documents while keeping them available to historians, genealogists, and the public, now and in the future.
The fund was established with an initial gift from historian Paula Felder, whose work documented and preserved the history of the Fredericksburg region. Its focus brings preservation and access together: safeguarding the documentary record is paired with making that record available to people studying local history and to the wider public.
