Description
The Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) administers the Housing Trust Fund Homeless Reduction Grant to make homelessness in Virginia rare, brief, and non-recurring. It competitively funds projects coordinated with Continuum of Care (CoC) or Balance of State Local Planning Group (LPG) strategies and integrated into a local emergency crisis response system.
Supported work includes rapid re-housing for literally homeless households; innovative approaches for underserved people experiencing homelessness; and rental assistance and stabilization services for chronically homeless households in permanent supportive housing. The FY 2027 guidelines give priority consideration to efforts reducing homelessness among youth and families.
