The Virginia Jobs Investment Program (VJIP) is a discretionary incentive administered by the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP). It provides cash grants and talent-development services to qualifying companies creating jobs or upskilling employees in connection with new or expanding Virginia operations. Grants help offset recruitment and training costs; an assigned business manager can also assist with recruitment planning, hiring events, training-needs assessment, and connections to workforce and education providers.
New Jobs Programs support corporate headquarters, distribution centers, information technology, manufacturing, research and development, and shared service centers. When the annual VJIP budget allows, retraining programs support manufacturing and distribution companies adapting their workforce to new production technology, a changed product line, or a substantial change in service delivery.
