A 6-week virtual workshop to help early stage investigators develop competitive grant-writing skills through interactive lectures, peer review, and expert feedback.

--- ## Description This virtual grant writing workshop is designed specifically for early stage investigators preparing for future grant submissions, such as career development awards (e.g., K awards) and pilot/research grants (e.g., R03, R21). The 6-week course features bi-weekly sessions including didactic lectures on grantsmanship and biostatistics, peer review sessions, and practical instruction on grant sections. Participants receive direct feedback from experienced peer reviewers and access to biostatistical support. The course is led by Dr. Katherine Crew and other faculty tailored to participant interests and grant mechanisms. There is no cost to participate for eligible applicants. --- ## Due Dates - May 1, 2026: Application deadline --- ## Funding Amount - This opportunity does not provide direct monetary awards. Instead, selected participants are enrolled in a 6-week virtual workshop at no cost, which includes expert-led instruction, peer review, and biostatistical support. --- ## Eligibility - Applicants must be faculty members at a SWOG institution or a member institution within the National Clinical Trials Network (NCTN). - Clinical Instructor/Lecturer appointments are eligible. - Applicants must be actively preparing a grant (career development award or pilot/research grant) for submission within 2025–26. - Workshop is offered at no cost to eligible members. --- ## Application Process - Submit an online application by the deadline. - Required materials: - Grant mechanism and deadline, plus working title for the proposal to be developed in the course - Applicant CV (PDF, max 50 MB) - Personal statement (PDF, max 50 MB) addressing grant writing experience, research experience with SWOG/NCTN/NCORP or future plans, and goals for participating - Letter of support from a SWOG/NCTN Institutional Principal Investigator (PDF, max 50 MB) - The error correction window is 48 hours post-submission. If the deadline falls on a weekend/holiday, it is extended to the next business day.
