Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society’s Visiting Professorship supports visits by eminent people in medicine who share their perspectives on medicine and its practice with medical school communities. Established by the society’s board of directors in 2002, the program funds travel, accommodation, meals, and an honorarium for approved visits.
Each visiting professor provides at least one full day of teaching and interaction with students, residents, and faculty. Activities connect clinical practice and research with leadership and medical professionalism through rounds, research discussions, teaching conferences, seminars, and community presentations. The program reflects AΩA’s commitment to professionalism, compassion, and humanism, including respect for patients’ dignity and privacy.
