Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, offers short-term Visiting Professorships to senior academics (normally at least Readers or Associate Professors or equivalent) from other universities who are on sabbatical leave and wish to conduct research at the University of Cambridge or an affiliated research establishment. The program provides temporary senior membership of the College, generous dining privileges at High Table, and opportunities for engagement with the College’s academic and social community.
Visiting Professors are expected to participate in College life, present their research in a lecture or presentation, and contribute a brief written piece for the College’s annual alumni magazine. The appointment is for one term (either Michaelmas or Lent), and the tenure cannot be extended. While accommodation may be available through the College (rent payable), most Visiting Professors arrange their own housing. The professorship is non-stipendiary and does not provide research facilities.
