Description
The Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (AFAC) provides annual Visual Arts grants for the production and exhibition of painting, sculpture, photography, installations, video and sound art, art publications, and multimedia works. Support includes the research and development phases preceding artistic production, helping artists and cultural organizations realize projects connected to arts and culture from the Arab region.
The program supports individuals, teams, collectives, and institutions. Project formats include exhibitions, art books, festivals, installations, lecture performances, residencies, and training or workshops. Its emphasis is on producing artistic work rather than standalone mobility, although project-related research and implementation travel may be funded. The program forms part of AFAC’s pursuit of sustainability for the Arab cultural scene.
