Description
This faculty-led thematic residency at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity is designed for visual artists interested in speculative futures, world-building, and reimagining selfhood and agency. The program provides an immersive, research-driven environment with mentorship from accomplished faculty, cross-disciplinary exchange, and individualized studio spaces. Participants engage in workshops, peer learning, and hands-on experimentation, benefiting from the Banff Centre’s extensive production facilities and a vibrant community of international artists and mentors. The residency aims to challenge Eurocentric and heteronormative perspectives and supports artists working in a range of media including ceramics, digital media, painting, drawing, printmaking, papermaking, photography, sculpture, and installation.
