Description
The Kansas Governor’s Grants Program (KGGP) administers VOCA Crime Victim Direct Services Funding using funds from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office for Victims of Crime. The program supports services addressing victims’ emotional and physical needs, helping primary and secondary victims stabilize their lives after victimization, and assisting victims in understanding and participating in the criminal justice system. Safety assistance can include boarding up broken windows and repairing or replacing locks.
Priority is given to services for victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, and child abuse, alongside previously underserved victims of violent crime. The Kansas Implementation Plan 2026–2029 guides funding toward improved service availability, accessibility, and quality, with priorities spanning victim-service infrastructure, coordination across systems, public awareness, and workforce sustainability.
