Description
The New Hampshire Volkswagen Environmental Mitigation Trust, managed by the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES), funds projects that reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions resulting from Volkswagen diesel vehicles implicated in federal Clean Air Act violations. The trust supports cost-effective environmental mitigation projects, with a focus on expanding electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure throughout New Hampshire. Funding is available for both Level 2 charging stations at tourism and travel-oriented sites (through the Recharge the Adventure NH program) and, previously, for DC Fast Charging (DCFC) infrastructure along key travel corridors (now closed).
